I love San Francisco City Hall weddings. And when you add a bride from my hometown in Minnesota to the mix, you get one of my favorite all-time weddings. I was lucky enough to photograph the bride’s sister’s wedding awhile ago, and I couldn’t wait to photograph Katie and Matt’s wedding this past January. Katie and Matt tied the knot in a lovely ceremony at City Hall, attended by close family members. Their evening reception was an incredibly fun event, in part because the bride and groom requested roasts, as opposed to the traditional speeches, from select guests. The fun & laughter continued later with a lively Hora dance which both Katie and Matt, thankfully, survived without major injury. In keeping with the light-hearted and love-filled spirit of the celebration, the couple had a local artist, the Chalk Chica, create a chalkboard mural, in the shape of a heart, from advice given by the wedding guests. Congratulations, from Minnesota to California, to the lovely couple!
